The prettiest girl in the village

That's me!

No, not really. Especially not now that my face looks like my body's washed up on the shore after a week in the water. That's what a dear friend said when she saw my face. (and she really is a dear friend!)
Everything is swollen, my eyes are mere slits and it's all very itchy: face, throat and lower neckline.
Fortunately I'll be visiting a dermatologist this Thursday.
I'll let you know how I get on.

And no, I will not post a picture of my pretty face (now).

See ya!

Idiot sightings

No nothing on Valentine from me, I'm afraid; just something to have a laugh about:
On blog hopping I came across this page on the internet and couldn't stop laughing.
Very recognisable too!

Yes, I asked for permission to (re)publish it from Elizabeth McMahon and got it

Great Find!

I have to tell you what I found on the internet: a new toy: www.wordle.net
You fill in words you like or e.g. from this blog. I can't show you a picture so, please, go ahead and look for yourself.

I didn't expect to be overwhelmed by your reaction for the ticket to the quilt exhibition, but I've not heard from you and as you are my only reader ... Well, never mind; I'll make good use of it.

I was to go to Ameland this weekend, but my eye (lids) are killing me again: sore, painful, extremely dry skin. No seawind for me this weekend, sorry ...

Hey, and I finished a small quilt:
small, easy and cheap!
I won the fabric in a giveaway from these nice people
I'll have to send them a picture, too.
This weekend I'd like to concentrate on this (tutorial = here )
This was supposed to be a miniquilt and gift, but I cut them all wrong! and they became wonky pinwheels not interlocking at all. So I'll have a go at it this weekend.

Have fun, whatever you'll be doing!

Shopping (online), stashing, meeting old friends and a giveaway!

from the States
this one too

patterns form the UK
This week I received 3 packages full of goodies!
My eldest daughter said I could start my own fabric shop now!
I won't! I'm going to keep it all to myself and every night before I go to bed I will admire the stash!
I could really do that, you know ...

The patterns are all by "Don't look now": a wreath of appliqued flowers, the Christmas Tree and Garden Party. Love 'm

Look at it, they're all gorgeous:

Left = Summer Blossom by Amy Butler
Right = William Morris 2 Rose and Grey by Fabric Freedom

Then what else happened to my in my retirement bliss:
Online meeting up with old schoolmates via Facebook, don't you love it when that happens.
You haven't spoken to someone in 20 or 30 years and you're very welcome again.
That was a good harvest ...!

And now I have a problem, one that can be solved: I won a ticket for free entrance at the Patchwork & Quilt Exibition in Vijfhuizen (near Haarlem), but I can't go.

If you'd like to have it, let me know (by mail) why.

Having fun colouring!

I like this! Connecting Threads (..com) have their own 'kitbuilder': you can upload one of their quilt designs and fill in the colours or fabric you like. (and order it of course)
They have a contest on at the moment.
This is the design I came up with: my design and this one
I wonder what you'd make?
Have fun exploring and colouring.
