What I saw on my holiday in the UK, part 1

Last Sunday we came home from rainy UK. Well, not all the time, in fact we had a few beautiful days, weatherwise. The first week we went to the Dales where we'd rented a house, which is called a cottage. I always thought a cottage was small, dark and poky; this one wasn't. No neighbours, just sheep.
A few outings and nothing much, just relaxation.
The Angel of the North really is BIG, no HUGE
 



And we really like Newcastle's quayside:










Then to vast nothingness and lots of pink

And many many red grouse and dry stone walls:

I'll come back to you with a few more pictures and then next week I'll be back in the saddle again and at the sewing machine!

  4. I had to laugh I live about 20 mins from the Angel and The Tyne bridge, whenever I'm coming home from a trip away those are the 2 things that make me sooo happy to see as I know I'm nearly home!
