What I saw on my holiday in the UK, part 1

Last Sunday we came home from rainy UK. Well, not all the time, in fact we had a few beautiful days, weatherwise. The first week we went to the Dales where we'd rented a house, which is called a cottage. I always thought a cottage was small, dark and poky; this one wasn't. No neighbours, just sheep.
A few outings and nothing much, just relaxation.
The Angel of the North really is BIG, no HUGE

And we really like Newcastle's quayside:

Then to vast nothingness and lots of pink

And many many red grouse and dry stone walls:

I'll come back to you with a few more pictures and then next week I'll be back in the saddle again and at the sewing machine!

  1. Welcome back! Can't wait to hear about your adventure. The pictures are fabulous!

  2. Ooo, lovely! A part of England I didn't get to see on my visit in 1983 - perhaps in 2017!

  3. Lovely pictures. I hope you had a good time here:)

  4. I had to laugh I live about 20 mins from the Angel and The Tyne bridge, whenever I'm coming home from a trip away those are the 2 things that make me sooo happy to see as I know I'm nearly home!

Hope you had a lovely trip :)
