It seems funny to put the month and the year in the title, but it just makes me realise time does go quickly. And 'they say' it goes even quicker as you get older.
February has been a good month to me!
Market and exhibition full of inspiration. Like this man, Arnout Cosman, who makes the most beautiful quilts! Meeting an old friend in Amsterdam and buying ART. Finishing Storm's baby quilt. Winning this lovely mini quilt (17" sq) made by FrozenKnickers with a tutorial here. Finishing my brown/beige baby quilt. I had so many positive reactions on this one! I was over the moon! I need your help as it is still without a name. Suggestions, please? And have I now created a monster that will never be finished? Well maybe I'll just make my postage stamp quilt a little bit bigger, starting with 2" squares. All of those I love. Today I started working on a quilt with a huge star in the most beautiful fabric (of all?) Well I have to leave you with a cliffhanger, don't I? I'm linking up with everything Lynne has on offer today. Have fun sewing or whatever you'll do! |
I have no names for it because I have no imagination but will come back to you if anything comes to mind but I love love love that baby quilt. It's so sophisticated and serene, like trees in winter
ReplyDeleteWell, how about Trees in Winter? It matches up perfectly with that landscape behind it in the pic. It's very beautiful, btw.
ReplyDeleteHow about 'misty woods'....love the circular quilting.
ReplyDeleteoh lovely to meet you and lovely baby quilts! love the brown, headed over from lily's quilts SBM x
ReplyDeleteyour brown/beige baby quilt reminds me of a weathered wooden jetty/pier reaching out into the water.
ReplyDeleteStopping in from the SBM! The brown and beige quilt is stunning! I love the circular quilting against the rectangular blocks!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt makes me think of lovely chocolate dreams, clouds of sweet cocoa, warm brownies and ice cream.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all of the finishes.
You've had a great month, can't wait to see what you're up to now!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love the yellow and grey combo. I'm just stopping by from Lily's small blog meet up. Looking forward to reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love your work. Your brown and beige quilt is lovely....very modern....great color combo and a work to be proud of. Storm's baby quilt is adorable. I love those little monkeys popping up everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI love your projects!1 The brown strip is my favorite!1 Thanks for sharing!! Hugs
ReplyDeletelove that brown/beige baby quilt - the quilting is divine. how about chocolate hugs?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the brown/beige baby quilt! the quilting is fantastic! your postage stamp quilt is looking good, too. looks like you have been busily sewing :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a suggestion for naming your quilt, it's so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love your brown baby quilt. It is gorgeous! And the circular quilting is just perfect. I like how you started the quilting off to the side. Naming quilts isn't easy! I find that when I think about why I made a quilt and what I like about it, a name comes to me.
ReplyDeleteLove the brown/beige baby quilt! I'd call it Tiny Tumbleweed.
ReplyDeleteThe browns baby quilt makes me think of sunshine on a cloudy day. I would call it something along the lines of Solar. Very impressive quilting--I can barely do one circle!
ReplyDeleteDo you always add a quilt label to your projects?...Im not too good at remembering to do this!
ReplyDeleteI love your storm quilt and the stamp quilt in your post below. You've been making some lovely things :)
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy! You sort of have a name for your quilt already - Over the Moon (as you are with it), plus it has the browns/beiges of the moon and the circular quilting. Love the postage stamp starter - I have been thinking of something similar as the scraps are piling up, but I agree with you on making the squares a bit bigger than 1 inch. It might drive me crazy at 1 inch!
ReplyDeleteLove your earth quilt Betty. You have taken the photo in the perfect place. I love the old hut in the background. How about Nature's Edge or Spinning Earth or maybe some reference to the hut in background if it has a connection with you. Naming quilts is not my strong point. I like Rachel's suggestion of Tiny Tumbleweed.
ReplyDeleteI've popped over from Lily's Quilts, SBM.
I love the quilting on the Brown baby quilt.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very memorable month!
ReplyDeleteHopping over from Lily's Quilts meet and greet. I'm glad to have found you and will be stopping back again. I'm going to echo my admiration for your works, especially the brown one with the fabulous circular quilting!
